What is attendance in KlasPoint?
KlasPoint attendance is a check-in based attendance system for physical tutorial classes. Staff open check-in for a scheduled session, students confirm they are present with a short code, and KlasPoint records attendance for each student and each session.

Paper registers cost teaching time and tell you very little.

Attendance in KlasPoint is tied to the sessions you schedule for each class group. A fresh code is generated when you open check-in and only works while check-in is open, so students need to be in the room to hear it. Staff can still mark a student present directly whenever they need to.

Can students check in without being in class?
The code changes every session and is only accepted while check-in is open, so a student needs to be present to hear it when it is read out.
Do students need a special app to check in?
No. They check in through their portal in a phone browser, or by sending the code to the WhatsApp assistant.
Can I see one student's attendance across the term?
Yes. The attendance report shows each student's sessions held, attended and missed, with their attendance rate, and it can be exported.
What else does attendance affect?
Attended sessions build streaks and points in the student engagement system, and they feed your attendance reports.
