What is student engagement in KlasPoint?

KlasPoint student engagement is a set of motivation features — points, levels, attendance streaks, badges and class leaderboards — that reward tutorial students for attendance and learning activity, not only for exam scores.

Included on every plan. Points from quizzes, assignments and mock exams come with those Pro features.

The problem

Motivation fades halfway through the term.

  • Attendance drops once the excitement of a new class wears off.
  • Students who are not top scorers rarely get recognised for their effort.
  • Neither students nor tutors can easily see progress over weeks.

How KlasPoint solves it

Reward effort as well as results.

Engagement in KlasPoint is built on what students actually do. Every attended class, finished lesson and piece of submitted work earns points, so a consistent student can climb the leaderboard even before their scores catch up.

  • Points

50 for attending a class, 30 for a mock exam, 25 for an assignment, 20 for a quiz and 15 for a completed lesson.

  • Levels

Every 100 points is a new level, marked with a celebration when a student levels up.

  • Attendance streaks

Consecutive classes attended build a streak that students do not want to break.

  • Badges

Milestones for a first class, three- and seven-class streaks, ten classes attended, a first mock exam, five lessons, five quizzes, three assignments and a perfect score.

  • Class leaderboards

Each class group has a points leaderboard, so students can see where they stand.

FAQ

Questions about student engagement

More answers in the KlasPoint FAQ.

Can students see each other's points?

Students can see the leaderboard for their own class group, which shows names and points.

Can I see engagement for my whole class?

Yes. The points and activity report lists each student's points, level and activity, and it can be exported.
